“Educate. Inspire. Believe!” lines the pamphlets at GiGi’s Playhouse. GiGi’s is a national down syndrome achievement center. It began with a family whose daughter was diagnosed with down syndrome. Naming the centers after her. GiGi’s has been able to advocate for adults, kids and families.
“It’s really a great place for them to feel like it’s one big community. And to feel safe here. It’s really great to see everybody come together as one,” says Taylor Otis, Director of Adult Programming.
GiGi’s in Des Moines came into town about seven years ago. And continues to advocate.
“So every single day it’s about them gaining confidence and exploring new things,” says Otis.
