If you live in Des Moines, you know that the Spring weather is anything, but predictable. Days that are sunny and 70 can quickly turn to cold and rainy. This April has been riddled with an assortment of weather, but when the weather is nice, the people of Des Moines seem to take advantage.
On a sunny day, you can find Gray’s Lake Park packed with people of all ages biking, running, and canoeing. That was the case earlier this week. On a sunny day with clear skies, the lake was filled with people fishing in kayaks and families on paddle boats.
“It’s just nice, relaxing, a good environment” expressed a new employee at Gray’s Lake. Mike Schulte was excited to start work at the park, especially after getting lucky with the weather on his first day. “I’ve always loved coming here to hang out” said Mike. A Des Moines native, he was excited about the opportunity to give back to a place that had always been a part of his life.
