In April the Science Center of Iowa started a new program. The program: Yoga Under the Stars. This after hours event was created at the Science Center in hopes of bringing more adults to the Science Center.
In attendance are 20 year-olds to people in their late fifties. On Monday nights, you can find yourself a spot under the planetarium’s sky and roll out a mat. Listen to soft, relaxing music in the background and look at the twinkling lights.
Lillian Chesser, Facility Rental Lead at the Science Center of Iowa enjoys the sessions. “My favorite yoga pose is called happy baby,” she says. “I really like relaxing yoga poses. This one is a pose where you lay on your back and you grab your toes with your hands…It’s one of those yoga poses that takes you back to your childhood, you can be silly.”
For more information or to pre-register for a class go to the Science Center of Iowa’s website. Yoga Under the Stars takes place every Monday through May.
