The Des Moines Farmers Market attracts thousands of people around the state of Iowa throughout the year. With over 300 vendors, people come to buy and sell food, jewelry, and art. With bright eyes and full bellies, what more could people need?
Adding to the lively spirit, musicians, such as the UnityPoint Ensemble, perform for the people at the market. The ensemble consist of a violin, flute, keyboard, and cello. They play classical music and even contemporary Christian music.
These musicians have performed three times this year at the market, but also have made an appearance around Des Moines area such as the Merle Hay Mall, nursing homes, and other small events.
The Unity Point ensemble wasn‘t the only group who made an appearance this Saturday.
From solo artist to bands and orchestras, there’s no genre that can’t be heard. Performers are placed simultaneously through the market for people to hear and accept free will donations.
Farmer’s markets will be held every Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon until October 28.
