On Saturday, a sold out crowd was present as a group of all-female comedians performed Des Moines Social Club’s fourth annual Galentines Day comedy show at the Kum and Go Theatre.
Women, men, family and friends gathered to listen to these comedians discuss various topics such as the election and having kids, but mainly focused their sets on the idea of love and female friendships.
Des Moines Social Club Communications Director Katie Privitera explained how their main goal of the show is to celebrate friendships, especially those we have with other women.
“The main goal is to have a ton of fun, celebrate friendships with your female friends…and laugh your head off,” Privitera said.
Because of the success of previous years, the Social Club held two performances Saturday evening, one at 8pm and another at 10 pm.
The Des Moines Social Club hosts monthly events focusing on various topics such as weekly team trivia nights and other comedy shows. To learn more about their programs, visit their calendar or check out their Facebook page.
