Three whales found off the shore off Mexico are believed to be a formerly unidentified types. Researchers discovered the animals while tracking beaked whales near the San Benito Islands in November.

Jay Barlow, an aquatic animal biologist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego, claimed they did not know their exploration up until later on when examining pictures.

The researchers are currently waiting for the DNA evaluation of water examples that might hold skin cells for feasible DNA screening to verify whether the whales are a brand-new types.

If validated, it would certainly bring the variety of recognized beaked whale types to 24.
